Deacon Paul Herman, the newest deacon at St. Rose of Lima, was ordained on June 25, 2022. Deacon Paul and his wife Mary Jo have been parishioners of St. Rose since 2000, when they relocated from Greenville, SC for a change in his banking career that took him to the Sacramento area. St. Rose Parish community became their home with the school making room for their two youngest children. Deacon Paul and Mary Jo are blessed to have four adult children, two daughters and two sons. In addition, they are blessed with 6 grandchildren, all living in the Northern California area. Deacon Paul still works full-time in the financial and banking industry but tries to assist as much as possible within the Parish community. His primary ministry is assisting with St. Vincent de Paul’s Roseville kitchen for the less fortunate. He has also been helping in the RCIA program, meeting with homebound parishioners and other needs Fr. Baricuatro may need assistance with. Mary Jo is very involved in the parish’s funeral ministry, taking on the coordinator role. She is also assisting with childcare for our four youngest grandchildren who live in the Rocklin area. We have been blessed with an outpouring of love from our parish family as we get acclimated to being the junior deacon and deacon wife at St. Rose of Lima.
