Did you know ACTS is a lay apostolate? Yes, ACTS is a parish retreat weekend, patterned after the description of the early Church in the Acts of the Apostles, breaking bread together, worshipping together, receiving instruction together, sharing in common, and reaching out in loving service. Not just a group of brothers and sisters in our parish who wear red shirts and give great smiles and hugs, but St. Rose Parishioners foster love and true discipleship.
The ACTS retreat weekend is intended to be God’s retreat and a vehicle to promote the spiritual life of each person who attends. The retreat weekend has proven to call and unite brothers and sisters of our parish who are wonderfully diverse in culture and age. When someone returns from their retreat weekend they are fired up with the Holy Spirit, eager to evangelize Christ’s Love, and usually want to become more involved in the parish community. They are enthusiastic to share the gift of Adoration, Community, Theology, and Service. This is why we give participants who attend an ACTS retreat a list of numerous parish ministries they can contact, as well as, Bible and faith formation classes offered through the parish to help their spiritual life continue to grow. They are encouraged to nourish their participation as a member of the St. Rose of Lima parish family. ACTS is not a membership organization or is it ever intended to be a separate community within our parish community.
