on required preparation, required documents, logistics, and Wedding

St. Rose Office or the Wedding Coordinators.

St. Rose Church Staff
Active Parishioner
You
must be an active, registered parishioner at St. Rose Church for a minimum of 6 months prior to
initiating a meeting for
wedding arrangements. As Marriage is a Sacrament, it is necessary to
develop a faith-filled commitment to religious practice before celebrating your
wedding which includes attending Mass weekly. In addition, there are some
required marriage preparation programs.

Required Preparation Programs
You
are required to attend either the Engaged Encounter OR the
Pre-Cana Marriage Preparation. In addition, you are required to attend the
Natural Family Planning Seminar.

Required Documents
Baptismal,
Confirmation, and First Holy Communion certificates are required. In
addition, the following documents may also be required:

Permission for
Mixed Marriage for a Catholic to marry a Baptized non-Catholic Christian
-
Dispensation
for disparity of worship for a Catholic to marry a non-Baptized person
-
Pre-nuptial
Inquiry to be completed by a Catholic witness for the bride and groom

Marriage
License from the county along with the names of witnesses printed on a
separate sheet of paper (must be given to the Parish Office during regular
business hours 4 weeks prior to the wedding date.

If you are not
registered at St. Rose, a letter from your Pastor giving permission to marry
out of Parish

Church Offering
The
customary offering for parishioners is $500 and non-parishioners is $750.
This covers services of the wedding coordinator, organist, as well as use of the
church facilities. A deposit of $250 (non-refundable) is to be paid at the time
of scheduling your wedding. Final payment is due 1 month prior to the
wedding date. Fee for paperwork for weddings outside our Parish is $250
(non-refundable).
A
donation to officiating Clergy is discretionary and is customarily made the day
of the wedding.

| Scheduling |
After reviewing the requirements, call the St. Rose
Church Office at 916-783-5211 to schedule an appointment to see the
Deacon. Once you meet with the Deacon, he will set the date with
you. No date may be set for Marriage in the Church when a
Church Annulment of a previous marriage is still in process. |
| Wedding Coordinator |
Your initial
contact with the Wedding Coordinator should be 2 months prior to the
wedding date:

| Ceremony, Rehearsal, Music,
Procedures, Etc. |
Please direct
all questions about ceremony, rehearsal, music, procedures, etc. to the
Wedding Coordinator.
While the main elements of the Rite are established by
the Church, there still are many options left up to the discretion of
the couple including selection of Scripture readings. A rehearsal
usually takes place the night before the wedding and is scheduled
through the Wedding Coordinator. |
| Photographs and Videos |
Photographs and videos may be take inside the Church,
but may NOT be taken in the Sanctuary during the ceremony.
However, posed pictures may be taken in the Sanctuary either before or
after the ceremony. |
| Decorations |
Check with the Wedding Coordinator regarding the
placement of floral arrangements and other decorations. Please
inform your florist that only masking tape may be used on the pews or
floor (NO tacks, nails, or pins). Rice or birdseed is NOT allowed and no
petals may be placed down the aisle! |
| Cancellation |
The wedding will be cancelled if any member of the
wedding party is found to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Alcohol or drugs are NOT allowed on the premises.
The rehearsal/wedding will be cancelled if all paperwork
is not in to the Parish Office 1 month prior to the date of the
rehearsal.
The fee, outside of the paperwork charge of $250, will
be refunded if the date is cancelled at least 3 months prior to the
scheduled date. |
