Religious Formation--Sacrament Celebration

The Parish Religious Formation Programs cover a wide range.  We instruct children, teens, and adults through the following programs:  St. Rose School; Religious Education, English/Spanish; Life Teen; Junior High (Edge), Young Adult Ministry; RCIA (adults); RCIT (Teens); Baptism Prep and Marriage Prep.

As parents, teachers, and parish staff and parishioners we are charged with the responsibility of handing on our faith tradition.  At St. Rose we are blessed with hundreds of volunteers who participate in our programs.

Sacred Scripture is the foundation of our formation.  The Life, Death, and Resurrection of Jesus are detailed in the Gospel stories.  Through ministry we are united with Jesus by the power of the Spirit in proclaiming the Kingdom of God an in worshiping our Heavenly Father.  We are stewards of the Kingdom and we share in the mystery of the dying and rising of the Lord Jesus.  Our mission is to the whole world -- to all of life, which is the sacred place of God's revelation.  We call all life and all creation to its sacred purpose.  We respect life, we care for the disadvantaged and we invite all to the Communion of faith.

We invite all parishioners to stewardship of time, talent, and treasure so we can curb our own self-interest and serve the needs of other.  Parents practice those qualities in relation to their children and as believers we must sustain these qualities toward everyone.

This generous attitude disposes us to come to God in prayer.  The Sacred Liturgy gathers the church, the Body of Christ. The Great Amen of the Mass and our particular Amen of Communion affirms our identity.  Each of our Sacramental moments renews that identity;

We keep the memory of the Lord Jesus

We celebrate the Community of Faith

We invite those who are on the Journey

We need the example of participation of each one especially parents of children.  The Baptism ritual reminds parents to bring up their children in the practice of the faith.  Sacrament celebrations belong to the whole parish community.  These are not events of individual achievement.  Parents and sponsors should remember this and refrain from ostentatious and extravagant behavior.  We look forward to your participation in celebrating  the Sacred Mysteries of our Faith.
